River Valley and Yuba City both moved forward in the Sac-Joaquin Section football playoffs on Thursday night, joining a group of victors that includes Sutter and five-time defending Northern Section champion East Nicolaus.
The playoff results continue the postseason run for several Northern California programs. East Nicolaus, the established powerhouse with five consecutive section titles, added another victory to its championship pedigree, while Sutter also secured a win to advance alongside the defending champions.
River Valley and Yuba City's advancement keeps their championship aspirations alive in the Sac-Joaquin Section brackets. The playoff field continues to narrow as teams compete for section titles across multiple divisions.
