Munich's Allianz Arena will replace its playing surface in just five days ahead of an NFL regular-season game between the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, according to stadium officials. The venue's chief expressed confidence in the tight turnaround, stating the operation is well within standard procedures for the multi-purpose stadium.
The German Press Agency (DPA) reported on October 29, 2026, that the turf swap is scheduled to be completed well before kickoff. Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich, has hosted NFL games since 2022 as part of the league's International Series. The Panthers-Giants matchup marks another step in the NFL's expansion into the German market.
Stadium management has experience with rapid surface changes between soccer and American football configurations. The current timeline allows sufficient time for the new turf to settle before the game, officials said.
