UFC Fight Night returns to the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 31, with a lightweight main event pitting veteran Renato Moicano against rising prospect Tom Nolan. The main card begins at 8 p.m. ET, with prelims starting at 5 p.m. ET, streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
Main Event: Moicano vs. Nolan
Renato Moicano (21-7-1) enters the bout after a knockout win over Chris Duncan in April. The 35-year-old Brazilian had sought a high-profile matchup, initially targeting Brian Ortega, but after Ortega withdrew twice, Moicano accepted a fight with Nolan. "They offered the Nolan fight on the same card [UFC 332], and I said, Let's do a main event. I have respect for Tom Nolan, and I think he needs time to have a camp," Moicano said. "It's one thing to beat him on one week's notice. I gave him that chance to be better prepared for this fight."
Tom Nolan (11-1), 26, arrives on a five-fight winning streak with all victories by knockout. The Australian has studied Moicano's recent performances, including his win over Benoit Saint Denis. "The way he used the body triangle to go between mount and back mount. I just thought it was a beautiful way to keep his hips facing the floor at all times," Nolan said. "There are only a few examples of it at a really high level to study, and you know, I'm a big believer in keeping up with the times and studying the sport." Nolan also expressed a desire to use Moicano's own ground-and-pound tactics against him.
Co-Main Event and Other Bouts
The co-main event features welterweights Jacobe Smith (30) against Randy Brown (36). Smith, an NCAA Division I All-American wrestler from Oklahoma State, has won seven straight fights by stoppage. "I'm very well equipped to get you out of there, whether it's wrestling, choking you out, or knocking you out," Smith said. "So you guys in the welterweight division better be ready."
Other main-card fights include a flyweight clash between Cody Durden and Ode Osborne, a women's bantamweight bout between Luana Santos and Yana Santos, and a welterweight opener between Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani and Farman Hasanov.
Odds and Prediction
According to DraftKings, Moicano is a -130 favorite over Nolan (+110). Smith is a -258 favorite against Brown (+210). Durden is a slight -118 favorite over Osborne (-102). Luana Santos is a heavy -305 favorite over Yana Santos (+245), and Lebosnoyani is a -310 favorite over Hasanov (+230).
Expert prediction favors Moicano via second-round submission. The analysis notes the difficulty of predicting where an aging fighter's decline meets a younger opponent's improvement. While Nolan possesses knockout power and is dangerous early, Moicano's experience and recent resurgence give him the edge to exploit openings and secure a submission before the championship rounds.
