Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles is evaluating a potential acquisition of defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, a move that could signal the team's commitment to immediate contention while also building for the future. The proposed deal, discussed in a recent column, raises questions about whether the Bears are going "all-in" on the current roster.
The column examines the implications of adding Simmons, a proven interior disruptor, to a defense that already features significant talent. Poles sees the addition as a boon both for the present season and for the long-term structure of the team.
No official agreement has been announced, and the Bears' front office continues to weigh the cost of such a transaction against other roster priorities.
