The Minnesota Vikings have received significant news regarding a possible trade for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, according to a report published Saturday.
Taylor, a three-time Pro Bowl selection and 2021 NFL rushing leader, has been the subject of trade speculation. The Colts running back rushed for 1,122 yards and 11 touchdowns in the 2023 season despite missing games due to injury.
Minnesota has been searching for backfield reinforcement after losing Alexander Mattison in free agency. The Vikings currently have Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler as their primary running backs heading into the 2024 season.
Any potential deal would likely require significant draft capital, as Taylor remains under contract through the 2026 season after signing a three-year, $42 million extension with Indianapolis in October 2023.
