The Denver Broncos have reportedly contacted the Indianapolis Colts about a potential trade for star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to Broncos Wire. The Broncos are said to be looking to add "a weapon or two" to their offense, with Taylor emerging as a primary target.
Taylor, a former All-Pro and one of the NFL's most dynamic running backs, has been the subject of trade speculation in recent seasons. The 25-year-old rushed for 1,181 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in the 2023 season despite missing games due to injury.
Denver's interest signals an aggressive approach to upgrading their backfield as they seek to improve an offense that has struggled for consistency. Any deal for Taylor would likely require significant draft capital, given his elite production when healthy and his age.
The Colts have previously maintained they want to keep Taylor long-term, but contract negotiations have been contentious. Indianapolis selected Taylor in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he quickly established himself as a franchise cornerstone.
