An unidentified Philadelphia Eagles star has been hit with an NFL punishment ahead of a game against the Washington Commanders, according to a report by Cole Sullivan. The disciplinary action comes as the Eagles prepare to face their NFC East rivals.
A photograph from the teams' previous meeting on December 22, 2024, at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, shows Eagles defensive end Nolan Smith Jr. being congratulated by teammate Jalen Carter after recovering a fumble during the third quarter. The Eagles won that contest, though the specific result was not detailed in the report.
Details regarding the nature of the punishment, which player received it, and the specific infraction were not disclosed in the initial report. The NFL typically announces fines and suspensions for on-field conduct or policy violations during the week leading up to games.
