Bayern Munich forward Fabio Silva credited his father's simple advice for his dramatic 90th-minute goal in the Bundesliga Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Silva, who came off the bench, said his father told him to "smell the ball" – a phrase meaning to stay alert and anticipate opportunities in the penalty area. The Portuguese striker followed that guidance, pouncing on a loose ball to secure a vital victory for Bayern at the Allianz Arena.
The goal marked Silva's first Klassiker goal since joining the club.
