Floyd Mayweather has announced an exhibition bout scheduled for December 19, describing it as a "tune-up" for a potential title fight against Ryan Garcia. The announcement was made on November 1, 2026.
Details regarding the opponent, venue, and broadcast arrangements for the exhibition have not been disclosed. Mayweather, a retired undefeated champion, has participated in several exhibition matches since his professional retirement. Garcia, a rising lightweight contender, has expressed interest in facing Mayweather in a sanctioned title bout.
The potential matchup would pit the 49-year-old Mayweather against the 26-year-old Garcia, representing a significant age and experience gap. No formal negotiations for a title fight have been confirmed beyond Mayweather's statement.
