Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has claimed the top spot on the list of the five youngest Formula 1 world champions in history. The Italian rookie secured the championship following the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on November 1, 2026.

Antonelli's achievement rewrites the record books, surpassing previous holders of the distinction. The Mercedes driver celebrated with his team after the race at the Texas circuit, marking a historic milestone in his debut season at the highest level of motorsport.

The updated ranking of the five youngest F1 world champions now places Antonelli at the summit, ahead of former record-holders including Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Max Verstappen. Each of those drivers won their first titles in their early twenties, but Antonelli has lowered the age barrier further.

Mercedes' decision to promote the Italian teenager from their junior program has been vindicated by immediate success. Antonelli's championship victory comes in his first full season with the Silver Arrows, adding a remarkable chapter to the team's storied history in Formula 1.
