New York Mets player Bichette has exercised a $42 million player option for the 2027 season, choosing to remain with the club rather than enter free agency, the Associated Press reported Friday.
The decision keeps the player under contract with the Mets for another year. Had he declined the option, Bichette would have become a free agent this offseason.
The move was announced on October 30, 2026.
