Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has reflected on the eye injury he suffered at UFC 241 while commending current titleholder Tom Aspinall for his decision to vacate the heavyweight championship.

Miocic, who lost the belt to Daniel Cormier at UFC 241 in August 2019 after sustaining a significant eye injury during the bout, spoke about the lasting impact of that fight. He also expressed respect for Aspinall's move to relinquish the title, a rare step in the sport's premier division.

Aspinall, who captured the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295 and was later promoted to undisputed champion, announced he would vacate the belt due to ongoing contractual negotiations with the promotion. Miocic's endorsement highlights the mutual respect between two generations of heavyweight contenders.
