Sweden's Andreas Almgren claimed victory in the men's professional division at the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon on November 1, crossing the finish line first in the race's 50th edition. The historic marathon, which traverses all five boroughs of New York City, marked its half-century milestone with the annual event drawing elite runners from around the world.
Almgren's win highlights the continued global appeal of the New York City Marathon, which has grown from a local race in 1976 to one of the world's major marathons. The 2026 edition maintained the traditional course through Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan.
