The Los Angeles Chargers, now 0-7 after another loss, may reconsider their stance on trading star pass rusher Khalil Mack before the NFL's November 10 deadline. The 35-year-old future Hall of Famer, still productive, would likely prefer a chance to compete for a championship. While a fifth-round pick might be fair value, the Chargers' reluctance and high demand could drive up the price. Here are three mock trade scenarios.
Trade 1: Reunion with the Chicago Bears
The Bears, already active after acquiring Jeffery Simmons, remain interested in Mack, who starred in Chicago from 2018 to 2021. In this proposal, Chicago sends a 2027 third-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick to Los Angeles for Mack and a 2027 fifth-round pick. The Bears would effectively move up a round on Day 3 of the draft, bolstering their Super Bowl aspirations.
Trade 2: Buffalo Bills add pass-rush help
Buffalo would receive Mack, a 2027 fifth-round pick, a 2028 sixth-round pick, and wide receiver Quentin Johnston. The Chargers would get a 2027 third-round pick, a 2027 sixth-round pick, wide receiver Josh Palmer, and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb. The Bills address a critical need opposite Greg Rousseau, who has nearly half the team's sacks, while Los Angeles gains immediate contributors and draft capital.
Trade 3: Harbaugh brothers deal with New York Giants
The NFC East-leading Giants, despite a weak pass rush, would acquire Mack, tight end Charlie Kolar, and running back Keaton Mitchell. In return, the Chargers would receive a 2027 third-round pick, a 2028 fifth-round pick, and running back Devin Singletary. The move reunites John Harbaugh with former Ravens players Kolar and Mitchell, while Jim Harbaugh gains Singletary and picks to accelerate a rebuild.
