Vlatko Andonovski has officially begun his tenure as head coach of Chicago's NWSL team, arriving with significant expectations after his previous success with the U.S. women's national team and Reign FC. The appointment marks a new chapter for the franchise as they aim to return to championship contention.
Andonovski, who led the USWNT to a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and won two NWSL titles with Seattle Reign FC, takes over a Chicago squad looking to rebuild after recent struggles. His tactical acumen and player development track record have generated optimism among supporters and analysts alike.
"It's going to be an exciting story," Andonovski said of the project ahead. The club has invested in roster upgrades during the offseason, signaling ambition to compete immediately in the 2027 NWSL season.
