The NBA has announced it will pause its game schedule on Election Day, November 3, 2026, continuing a practice from previous election cycles. Meanwhile, the NHL will proceed with its regular slate of games on the same day.
The decision reflects the NBA's ongoing effort to encourage civic participation by avoiding conflicts with voting. The NHL has not adopted a similar league-wide pause, opting to maintain its standard schedule.
