The New Mexico Lobos football team has cracked the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time in the program's 90-year history, marking a historic milestone for the university.
The achievement comes after the Lobos' victory over the San Jose State Spartans on October 31, 2026, at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, California. Head coach Jason Eck was seen celebrating with his players following the game.
The Lobos' entry into the national rankings at No. 22 reflects a remarkable turnaround for a program that had never before appeared in the AP Poll since its inception in 1936.
