The Cleveland Browns are preparing to start rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders in their upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints, according to reports on Wednesday.
Sanders, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has been backing up veteran Deshaun Watson through the first weeks of the season. The decision to turn to the former Colorado star comes as the Browns look for a spark on offense.
The move was signaled during warmups before Cleveland's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13, when Sanders took first-team reps alongside Watson at EverBank Stadium.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski has not officially named the starter for Sunday's matchup, but all indications point to Sanders making his first career start.
