The Seattle Seahawks have ruled out quarterback Sam Darnold for their Week 9 matchup due to injury, prompting a wave of reactions from NFL fans across social media.
According to a report from Pro Football Network, the decision to sideline Darnold has drawn mixed responses, with some fans describing it as the "best silent benching ever" while others suggested the team "plays better with the backup." The quarterback's absence marks a significant development for Seattle's offensive plans heading into the weekend's games.
Darnold, who joined the Seahawks this season, has been managing an injury that ultimately led to the team's medical staff determining he would not be available for Week 9 action. The move thrusts Seattle's backup quarterback into the starting role for a crucial divisional period.
