Media watchdog The Comeback has criticized FOX News for prioritizing coverage of WNBA player Sophie Cunningham with a headline describing her as "Hot, and she's funny" instead of focusing on the Republican Party's disappointing performance in the 2026 midterm elections. The criticism highlights a perceived disparity in news prioritization, with the conservative network choosing to feature the Phoenix Mercury guard in a lighthearted segment while giving less attention to significant political developments. Cunningham, known for her sharpshooting and social media presence, has become a popular figure in women's basketball. The Comeback's report suggests the coverage choice reflects broader patterns in how sports media and political outlets allocate attention.
