The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes escaped with a victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, improving to 8-0 on the season. The win came in a closer-than-expected contest that tested the Hurricanes' unbeaten record.
Miami entered the game as the nation's No. 1 team but faced a determined UNC squad that pushed the Hurricanes to the limit. The victory preserves Miami's perfect start to the 2026 college football season.
Dan Rorabaugh of the USA TODAY NETWORK - Florida reported on the game for the Palm Beach Post. The Hurricanes will look to build on this survival as they continue their pursuit of a championship season.
