Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 42 points to lead his team to a 124-116 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night at Paycom Center.
The win improves Oklahoma City's record as Gilgeous-Alexander continued his strong start to the season. The Thunder's star guard was efficient throughout the game, driving to the basket and creating scoring opportunities against a Cavaliers defense that featured James Harden.
Cleveland's Harden, playing against his former team, was unable to prevent the Thunder from securing the home win. The Cavaliers fell to 116 points despite competitive efforts from their roster.
The game marked another standout performance for Gilgeous-Alexander, who has established himself as one of the league's premier scoring guards. Oklahoma City's offense flowed effectively around his playmaking and scoring ability.
Both teams will look to build on this early-season matchup as the NBA campaign progresses.
