Texas women's basketball opened the 2026-27 season with a victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night in Austin. Madison Booker, the Longhorns' primary scorer after significant offseason departures, led the team with 24 points.
The win comes as Texas integrates new pieces following a wave of personnel losses. Head coach Vic Schaefer's squad showed promise but remains a work in progress early in the campaign.
