The Oakland Athletics took a major step toward their relocation to Las Vegas with a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new $1.75 billion domed stadium on June 23, 2025. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and principal owner John Fisher participated in the event at the 35-acre former Tropicana Las Vegas site, where the Tropicana was imploded in October 2024. The 33,000-seat ballpark is being constructed on nine acres of the property and is targeted for completion by Opening Day 2028.
The groundbreaking marks continued progress in the franchise's move to Las Vegas, including the ongoing building of a new front office structure to support operations in the new market.
