Former Australia international Chris Lynn has served a one-month ban after testing positive for cocaine on the day of the T20 Blast finals, according to a report by The Independent.
The 34-year-old explosive batsman, who has represented Australia in limited-overs cricket, returned a positive sample during the domestic competition's showpiece event. The ban has already been served, the report states.
Lynn, a veteran of franchise leagues around the world including the Indian Premier League and Big Bash League, was playing for his county side at the time of the test. The substance is classified as a drug of abuse under anti-doping regulations, typically carrying a reduced sanction when deemed out-of-competition use.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) have not publicly commented on the specific case, but such matters are usually handled confidentially until resolution.
