The Texas Longhorns have been placed at No. 7 in the inaugural College Football Playoff rankings released on November 4, 2026.
The ranking comes after the Longhorns' victory over Mississippi State on October 31, 2026, at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. In that game, linebackers Justin Cryer and Rasheem Biles along with edge rusher Zina Umeozulu combined for a sack, as captured in a photo by Aaron E. Martinez.
The College Football Playoff selection committee will update the rankings weekly through the remainder of the season.
