Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James has been assigned to the team's NBA G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, after seeing minimal playing time early in his third NBA season. The move comes ahead of the G League squad's season opener.
James has averaged just 2.4 minutes across five appearances for the Lakers this season, while the parent club has started the campaign with a 7-2 record. The assignment will allow the 20-year-old to gain more consistent on-court experience in the development league.
