Will Wade has returned to the sidelines at Louisiana State University, beginning his second tenure as head coach of the Tigers men's basketball team with a season-opening win. The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Wade's comeback started successfully as LSU kicked off the 2026-27 campaign.
Wade previously coached at LSU from 2017 to 2022, leading the program to an SEC regular-season title and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances before departing amid an NCAA investigation. His return marks a notable homecoming for the coach who compiled a 108-54 record during his first stint in Baton Rouge.
Details regarding the opponent, final score, and individual performances were not immediately available. The Tigers' season opener represents the first step in what the program hopes will be a renewed era of competitiveness under Wade's leadership.
