Los Angeles Lakers supporters have expressed frustration over a decision involving rookie guard Bronny James, son of franchise cornerstone LeBron James, in the wake of fellow first-year player Dalton Knecht's appearance with the New York Knicks.
The discontent surfaced after Knecht, who wears No. 4 for the Lakers, made his debut against New York. James, wearing No. 9, and Knecht had appeared together at the Lakers' media day on September 30, 2024, at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California, where both addressed reporters ahead of their inaugural NBA seasons.
Details of the specific decision regarding James that prompted the fan reaction were not immediately detailed in available reports. The Lakers' rookie class has drawn significant attention given James's lineage and Knecht's scoring reputation from his collegiate career at Tennessee.
