Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney sharply criticized a banner displayed at Florida State calling for the firing of Seminoles coach Mike Norvell, telling those responsible they should be ashamed.
The banner, reading "Fire Norvell," appeared during a Florida State game. Swinney addressed the matter while speaking to media after Clemson's 20-16 loss to Virginia Tech on October 24, 2026.
"You ought to be ashamed of yourself," Swinney said, expressing disapproval of fans targeting a fellow coach.
The incident underscores the mounting pressure on Norvell in his tenure at Florida State, and Swinney's remarks drew widespread attention across college football.
