A new feature from The Sporting News examines the all-time record and history of the storied "Catholics vs Convicts" rivalry between the University of Miami Hurricanes and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The article, written by Dan Treacy and published on Yahoo Sports, delves into one of college football's most famous and culturally significant matchups.
The rivalry earned its nickname during the late 1980s when the two programs represented contrasting images: Notre Dame as the traditional Catholic institution and Miami as the brash, talented upstart. Their meetings during that era produced some of the most memorable games in college football history.
