The Agricultural Bank of Egypt and the Sharqia Governorate have signed a joint cooperation protocol aimed at replacing and modernizing the public transportation system across the governorate's villages and centers. The initiative seeks to transition toward safer and more modern transportation methods.
The protocol was signed by Major General Abdel Ghaffar El-Deeb, Secretary-General of the Governorate, and Seraj Abdel Fattah, Head of Business Development and Sales Group at the Agricultural Bank of Egypt. The ceremony was attended by Engineer Hazem El-Ashmony, Governor of Sharqia, and Ibrahim Attia, Executive Consultant for Branches.
Upgrading Transportation Safety
The agreement aims to provide financing to replace old microbuses and unsafe quarter-trucks used for passenger transport with modern microbuses. This move is intended to improve service levels for citizens, provide a safe transport system to protect passengers, and enhance the urban appearance of the governorate.
Governor Sharqia praised the Agricultural Bank of Egypt's efforts in supporting the governorate's development plans through financing and community initiatives. He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with the bank to leverage its banking expertise and wide branch network for projects that directly impact citizens' lives.
Unprecedented Financing Terms
Seraj Abdel Fattah stated that the protocol provides unprecedented financing facilities and fast-track procedures to help drivers replace dilapidated vehicles. This supports state decisions to ban unsafe, worn-out vehicles from operating between villages and cities.
Key financial benefits included in the protocol feature a 25% down payment on the microbus, with installment periods extending up to 84 months. The bank aims to provide quick procedures and diverse products to meet the needs of all customer segments as part of its strategy to remain the closest bank to its clients.
Implementation Mechanism
Regarding the implementation of the protocol, representatives from the Agricultural Bank's sales team will work in coordination with the governorate to receive applications from vehicle owners. The bank aims to complete the approval procedures on the same day the requests are submitted.
