Rugby Football Union chief executive Bill Sweeney has confirmed that the Welsh Rugby Union has approached the RFU about the possibility of forming an Anglo-Welsh league. Sweeney, who has led the RFU since 2019, made the announcement on Friday, November 6, 2026.
