Sam Houston travels to Alabama this week to take on Jacksonville State, seeking to end a five-game losing streak that prompted a coaching change last week. The Bearkats enter the matchup under new leadership as they attempt to turn around a season that has spiraled since the midpoint of the campaign.
The game kicks off on Friday, November 6, 2026, with Sam Houston making the trip to Jacksonville State's home venue in Alabama. The Bearkats' recent struggles have been pronounced, with five consecutive defeats leading to the midseason coaching adjustment. Details on the new coaching appointment were not specified in the initial report.
Jacksonville State, playing on their home turf, will look to capitalize on Sam Houston's instability. The Gamecocks represent a Conference USA opponent for the Bearkats, adding conference implications to what is already a pivotal game for Sam Houston's season trajectory.
Broadcast information, including TV channel and streaming options, will be available closer to game time. The matchup represents a critical opportunity for Sam Houston to stabilize under new direction and avoid a sixth straight loss as the regular season progresses toward its conclusion.
