A legendary Major League Baseball executive has come to the defense of New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, describing him as "one of the best" in the business. The endorsement comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Cashman's tenure with the Yankees organization.
The supportive comments were highlighted in a column by Bob Klapisch published on NJ.com on November 6, 2026. While the identity of the legendary executive was not disclosed in the available summary, the praise underscores Cashman's long-standing reputation within baseball circles.
Cashman has served as the Yankees' general manager since 1998, making him one of the longest-tenured executives in the sport. Under his leadership, the franchise has won multiple World Series championships and maintained consistent postseason appearances.
