NFL Week 8: Computer Model Predicts Steelers and Rams to Cover Spreads
Other Sports · 13:35:10 - Friday, 30 October 2026

An advanced computer model that simulates each NFL game 10,000 times has released its Week 8 predictions and betting picks for the 2026 season. The model, which has returned more than $5,000 for $100 players on top-rated picks since its inception, entered Week 8 on a 58-51 run on top-rated selections dating back to 2024.

Key Week 8 Picks

Among the model's strongest picks, the Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5, 39.5) are projected to cover at home against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh has won 22 consecutive home games versus Cleveland dating back to 2004 and is one of three teams 3-0 against the spread at home this season. The model shows the Steelers covering well over 60% of the time.

Another highlighted selection is the Los Angeles Rams (-6.5, 45.5) covering against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have lost nine straight games dating back to last season, with quarterback Justin Herbert recording 12 turnovers against six touchdowns over that span. Los Angeles is also winless against the spread in those nine games, while the Rams are 6-2 against the spread in non-conference games since 2025, the second-best mark in the league. The model projects a Rams victory by more than a touchdown, with the over hitting over 60% of simulations.

Week 8 Schedule and Spreads

The full Week 8 slate features several notable matchups, including Ravens at Bills (Buffalo -3), Vikings at Lions (Detroit -3.5), Chiefs at Broncos (Kansas City -1.5), and Patriots at Dolphins (New England -7). Other large spreads include Bengals vs. Titans (Cincinnati -11.5), Jaguars vs. Colts (Jacksonville -10), and the Rams vs. Chargers game. The Chargers remain the only winless team against the spread this season, while every team has at least two against-the-spread losses.

The model has identified seven teams projected to win by double digits, potentially offering value on alternate lines. All picks and detailed analysis are available through the SportsLine platform.
