Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Corbin Burnes will not exercise his opt-out clause, according to reports published Thursday.
The decision keeps the right-hander under contract with the Diamondbacks for the remainder of his current deal. Burnes, who wears number 39, most recently took the mound on September 20, 2026, at Chase Field in Phoenix, where Arizona defeated the New York Yankees 8-4.
Burnes has been a key part of the Diamondbacks' rotation since joining the club. By declining the opt-out, he avoids entering free agency this offseason and remains with the National League West franchise.
