Great Britain's Jody Cundy saw his 20-year reign as para cycling's C4 kilo time trial world champion come to an end at the para cycling track world championships in the Netherlands. The 48-year-old, who won his first world title in 2006 and had defended his rainbow jersey across 15 consecutive championships, finished with a time of one minute and 4.93 seconds to claim silver.
Australian Korey Boddington took gold, beating Cundy's time by 2.25 seconds on the final run. Before the event, Cundy acknowledged that age was catching up with him and that adding to his 23 track cycling world titles would be hard. Cundy is a nine-time Paralympic champion, with three of his medals coming in para swimming between 1996 and 2000.
