Beaver Area High School football standout Jaivin Peel has been declared ineligible for the upcoming PIAA postseason, according to a report from the Beaver County Times. The ruling sidelines the player for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association playoff tournament.
The decision was reported Thursday by Ethan Morrison of the Beaver County Times. Specific reasons for the ineligibility ruling were not disclosed in the initial report. Peel had been a key contributor for the Beaver Area Bobcats during the regular season.
The PIAA governs high school athletics in Pennsylvania and enforces eligibility rules covering academics, transfers, age limits, and other criteria. Beaver Area will now prepare for postseason competition without one of its prominent players.
