Virginia Tech's men's basketball team recently conducted a scrimmage against the University of Maryland, with former Hokies head coach Buzz Williams now on the Maryland sideline. The closed-door session gave both programs an early look at their rosters ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The scrimmage comes weeks after the Hokies participated in the ACC basketball tip-off event in Charlotte on October 7, where guard Ben Hammond and head coach Mike Young represented the program. Virginia Tech opens its regular season in November.
