Mercedes driver George Russell has brushed aside suggestions that his Formula 1 career could be defined by his current season's performance, stating he believes he has 12 to 15 years remaining in the sport.
The 26-year-old British driver, who joined Mercedes in 2022, expressed confidence in his long-term prospects despite the pressures of competing at the highest level of motorsport. Russell's comments come amid ongoing scrutiny of his results relative to teammate Lewis Hamilton and the team's overall competitiveness.
"I have 12-15 years left," Russell said, emphasizing that a single season does not determine a career trajectory in Formula 1. The driver has secured one Grand Prix victory and multiple podium finishes since his debut with Williams in 2019.
