Barcelona legend Samuel Eto'o has opened up about a surprising chapter from his early career involving Real Madrid. The Cameroonian striker, who became one of Africa's greatest footballers during his time at Camp Nou, shared details of his experience with the Madrid club during his teenage years.
Eto'o joined Real Madrid's youth system in 1997 at age 16 but struggled to break into the first team, making only a handful of appearances before loan spells and an eventual move to Mallorca in 2000. His subsequent transfer to Barcelona in 2004 launched a legendary spell where he won three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies.
The revelation adds another layer to the storied rivalry between Spain's two biggest clubs, highlighting how one of Barcelona's greatest ever players once wore the white of their fiercest rivals.
