Oklahoma's starting offensive lineman has been upgraded to available for the Sooners' upcoming game against South Carolina, according to a report from Sooners Wire. The news comes as a significant boost for Oklahoma's offensive line depth heading into the matchup.
The lineman, whose status had been uncertain earlier in the week, participated in practice sessions leading up to the game and received medical clearance to play. Oklahoma's coaching staff had listed the player as questionable on the initial injury report before the upgrade.
South Carolina presents a formidable defensive front, making the return of the starting lineman particularly valuable for Oklahoma's offensive game plan. The Sooners will look to establish their running game and protect the quarterback against the Gamecocks' pass rush.
Kickoff for the Oklahoma-South Carolina contest is scheduled for Saturday, with both teams aiming to strengthen their conference standings.
