A statue of NBA legend Dwyane Wade at the Miami Heat's arena has undergone a makeover following public jokes and criticism, according to a report by Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel published on Yahoo Sports.
The original statue drew widespread commentary on social media and from fans regarding its likeness to the three-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer. The Heat organization subsequently commissioned revisions to improve the sculpture's resemblance to Wade, who spent the majority of his 16-year career with the franchise.
Wade, a 13-time All-Star and the Heat's all-time leading scorer, led Miami to championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013. The statue is located at Kaseya Center, the team's home arena.
