Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings: Model Highlights Sleepers and Surprises
World Sports · 17:54:21 - Saturday, 31 October 2026

Fantasy football managers setting lineups for Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season have a new resource from SportsLine's proven computer model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times and has outperformed human experts over recent seasons.

The model identifies several key start-sit decisions. Running back Quinshon Judkins, who averaged 83.3 total yards with three touchdowns over his last three games, is ranked outside the top 25 at his position this week. Judkins faces a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that allows the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game and has not allowed a touchdown to a running back in the last three weeks, holding Jonathan Taylor and Bucky Irving under 50 rushing yards each.

Conversely, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange is projected as the TE7 despite being the TE20 on the season. Strange has averaged 6.3 catches for 69 yards over his last three games, up from 2.3 catches for 24 yards in his first three. The Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts, who have allowed five touchdowns to tight ends over the last six games.

The model also highlights a surprising wide receiver projected to finish in the top 20 of Week 8 rankings despite being started in less than half of leagues last week. Full rankings for PPR and standard leagues are available at SportsLine.
