World Sports · 18:43:27 - Saturday, 31 October 2026

The Minnesota Vikings enter Week 8 as the NFL's last unbeaten team and will put their perfect record on the line Sunday when they visit the Detroit Lions, who are favored by 3.5 points. The weekend slate features several compelling matchups between one-loss teams, including the 5-1 Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos (+1.5) and the Baltimore Ravens hosting the 5-1 Buffalo Bills (-3) with quarterback Lamar Jackson returning from a three-game absence due to an ankle injury.

Divisional Matchups Highlight Week 8 Schedule

Other notable divisional games include the Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5), Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5), Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars (-10), New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins (+7), and the Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders (-5.5) on Sunday Night Football. The Patriots and Chiefs are the only road favorites this week.

SportsLine Computer Model Identifies Five Best Bets

Before locking in Week 8 selections, bettors are turning to SportsLine's proven computer model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times. The model has generated more than $5,000 in profit for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception and entered Week 8 on a 58-51 run on top-rated selections dating back to 2024. The model has locked in five confident best bets for Week 8 that, if parlayed successfully, would return nearly 25-1.

Colts-Jaguars Over 46.5 Leads Model's Top Picks

Among the model's top selections is the Over 46.5 points in the Colts-Jaguars matchup, which hits in 66% of simulations. The Over has cashed in six of the last 10 head-to-head meetings, while Indianapolis games have gone Over in six of the last 10 and Jacksonville's last game also hit the Over. The Jaguars rank seventh in scoring at 25.7 points per game, matching the Chicago Bears, while the Colts are allowing 25.7 points per game and recently traded away defensive lineman DeForest Buckner.

Indianapolis is led by running back Jonathan Taylor, who has carried 140 times for 587 yards (4.2 average) and eight touchdowns in seven games. Quarterback Daniel Jones has completed 59.6% of his passes for 1,398 yards and four touchdowns with seven interceptions. For Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence has completed 65.2% of his passes for 1,480 yards and 14 touchdowns with four interceptions and a 106.3 passer rating in six starts. His top target, Parker Washington, has 26 receptions for 416 yards (16.0 average) and four touchdowns.

The model has also identified four other matchups where it believes the line is significantly off, including multiple spread picks hitting well over 50% of the time in simulations.
