Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has hit out at media reports concerning his relationship with former teammate and coach Michael Carrick, labeling them as "lies." The Portuguese international's comments came after his penalty kick ignited a second-half revival for United in their match against Roma on November 4, 2026.
Fernandes converted the spot-kick to help turn the game in United's favor, but his post-match focus was on addressing speculation about his rapport with Carrick. The 28-year-old insisted the media narrative was inaccurate and defended their professional relationship.
The match, broadcast by BBC, saw United recover from a deficit to secure a positive result, with Fernandes' penalty proving pivotal. The midfielder's leadership on and off the pitch continues to be a talking point as United navigate a busy schedule.
