The Miami Heat have replaced their widely criticized statue of franchise legend Dwyane Wade with a new version that better captures the Hall of Famer's likeness. The original sculpture, unveiled outside Kaseya Center, drew immediate backlash from fans and Wade himself for its poor resemblance to the three-time NBA champion.
Team officials acknowledged the criticism and commissioned a replacement. The updated statue now features more accurate facial features and Wade's signature on-court intensity. Wade, who spent 16 seasons with the Heat and led Miami to championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013, has not yet publicly commented on the new version.
