Japanese right-hander Kaima Taira, who led Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in earned run average this season, will be posted by his club this offseason, making him available to Major League Baseball teams.
The New York Yankees are among the clubs reportedly interested in the pitcher, who has drawn attention for his dominant performance in Japan's top league.
The posting process will allow MLB teams to negotiate with Taira during a designated window, with his NPB team receiving a release fee if he signs.
