Austin FC has been officially eliminated from the MLS playoff race following a defeat to Real Salt Lake. The loss ends the Texas club's postseason hopes for the 2026 season.
The match result confirms Austin FC cannot mathematically qualify for the playoffs with the regular season drawing to a close. The team's campaign, which included a notable match against Seattle Sounders FC at Lumen Field on August 19, ultimately fell short of the postseason threshold.
